Why flat glass still needs a specialist cut
It's tempting to assume flat glass is easier to tint than curved glass, and in some ways it is. But the Cybertruck's panels are unusually large and set at sharp angles relative to each other, which means a template cut for a normal truck will not sit flush against the actual trim lines.
We treat each flat panel — windshield, doors, and rear glass — as its own measurement rather than assuming a generic large-panel pattern will fit. That attention is what keeps the edges tight and invisible once the film cures.
Protecting the stainless steel body during install
The Cybertruck's exposed stainless steel body panels sit directly against the glass edges we're working on, and that steel scratches more easily than painted sheet metal. We use soft protective masking along every glass-to-body seam before we start cutting or squeegeeing film.
